You can be assured that we know our product. As they are born, the calves receive an individual electronic record that stays with them through their lifetime. This record holds all the relevant information for that animal including pedigree, health, age, location, diet and date of harvest.
At approximately one year of age, the cattle are safely transported to southern Ontario, ready to thrive in the state-of-the-art feeding facility. They remain here for approximately another 6-8 months and are then sent to a local smaller Ontario processor, ensuring a consistent and trust worthy product.

Legendary Beef cattle safely arrive in beautiful southern Ontario at a state-of-the-art feeding facility, owned and operated by Brian & Jess. Brian is 7th generation on this beautiful land and Jess is 4th generation in agriculture coming from the West.
Our facility is unique in many aspects; cattle can choose to be outdoors or indoors, having temperature controlled curtains for optimum comfort and airflow in all seasons. Care and comfort for the cattle was fully thought out with the design of this facility; giving the cattle shelter from the winters cold and also allowing them to be fully in the sunny outdoors provides for an optimum low stress environment.
Our feeding program consists of a corn-fed vegetarian diet. Having consistent quality feed that is home grown, as well as working with a team of health professionals gives the cattle a great advantage to thrive. Each animal is logged electronically with a complete individualized history that is able to be transferred via email or Bluetooth from our facility, traceability made easy!
The operation isn’t just a great place for our cattle; it has also increased and sustained wildlife habitat along with greatly reducing the use of commercial fertilizers. Located in a remote setting alongside a large woodland, the cattle are often accompanied by grazing deer and wild turkeys passing by.

Nestled in the foothills of southern Alberta, with an abundance of fresh air, clean water and lush native grasslands, the historic multi-generational Flying E Ranche is where Legendary Beef all begins.
The Flying E Ranche produces top-quality, naturally raised Angus cattle. Our cow herd genetics are selected primarily for mothering ability and meat quality traits such as tenderness and marbling. With the help of a team of professionals, we ensure that animal and rangeland health are the top priorities on the ranch.
Throughout the year the cattle are closely monitored. During the winter, the cattle are brought closer to the facilities where they will get the extra care and daily attention they need. During the spring, summer and fall, the cows calve on the rugged terrain. They are moved frequently by horseback, rotating through pastures to optimize the health of our rangelands.
The cows are what maintains this one of a kind environment; they keep the grass vibrant, thus creating habitat for elk, deer, and moose, which in turn attract wolves, bears, coyotes, cougars, and eagles. The Flying E is home to so much more than just the Sears’ and Angus cattle.
